Looking forward to play a live set at Numusic Festival’s 20th anniversary this coming Saturday the 7th of September at Tou Scene in Stavanger. The evening is part of this year’s Nuart Festival, and celebrates the now defunct Numusic – a festival that was key in bringing the best electronic music to Norwegian shores over more than a decade.
Looking forward to yet again be responsible for the site ambience at Tromsø’s own Rakettnatt Festival this weekend as part of my Wave∞Form project. I’ll be rigging my modular and some other bits in the new specially designed UFO-style booth (see pic above), and in addition to the usual space-themed soundscapes I’ll be trying out all my new patches based on alternative tuning systems such as Tibetan chrystal bowl “chakra” scales, Fibonacci sequences and Kepler’s planetary orbital cycles. Delighted to be able to do some research on a 7000+ crowd in the middle of my hometown over 2 days.
I was lucky enough to be invited to play the Inversia Festival in Murmansk, Northern Russia, back in February. This brilliant festival is only in its second year but has already established itself as an important arena for joining local artists with international ones through workshops, talks and gigs. I’m doing a couple of live remixing gigs over the next month. The first one is in on Friday March 16th in Bodø, where I’m sampling the Arctic Philharmonic Orchestra (NOSO) performing “Shaker Loops” by John Adams. The second gig is in Tromsø on April 12th, where violinist Martin Truscott and NOSO are performing the same piece.
I’m thinking of doing some live versions of selected tracks from my back catalogue in addition to the usual improvised stuff at the gig I’m playing at Øyafestivalen in August. This coming weekend we’re performing “EXHALE” at the Laiks Dejot festival in Riga, Latvia. The performance is a collaboration with dance artist Liv Hanne Haugen and installation artist Lawrence Malstaff, and you can view a short video presentation of the project here and read more about the festival here.
I’m happy to announce that from now on all my international gig bookings and other commissions will be handled through Tallieu Art Office. For gigs in Norway, Standing Ovation will still be taking care of my bookings.
This weekend I’m off to Paris for the screening of “Northern Disco Lights” at the Polar Festival, where I’ll be doing a Q&A after the film. Prior to the screening I will be doing a live set at Rinse FM France that will also be streamed through their Facebook page. Skatebård will also be doing a DJ set in the same show, so tune in!
I’ll be doing an improvised modular live set at ACUD#1 in Berlin this coming Friday the 21st of April. Charlotte Bendiks will also dj at the event, in addition to the Acud residents. More info here.
